My mom would prepare the meals and I would prepare dessert.
As an adult I still prefer baking over cooking any day of the week.
When I search for a dessert to make it has to be simple and inexpensive to prepare.
I usually look for baking recipes that contain ingredients already in the cupboard.
My sister in law e-mailed me this recipe she found after spending about $4 at the store each time her hubby, my brother, wanted Pumpkin Chocolate Chip Cookies.
I tried the recipe as this is also my hubby’s favorite cookie and it was perfect.
This recipe is simple, cheap and as close to the store bought cookies as you can get!
Pumpkin Chocolate Chip Cookies

Cook Time: 10-12 minutes
Meal Preparation Ingredients:
- 1 box Spiced Cake Mix prepared
- 1/2 can of pumpkin pie filing
- 1 bag of chocolate chips
Meal Preparation Directions:
You prepare the cake mix as directed on the box add in the pumpkin pie filling and chocolate chips then scoop onto cookie sheet and bake at 350 for 10-12 minutes or until done depending on oven.
Meal Assembly:
Makes approx 2 1/2 dozen. They come out like the ones you buy at the store only a lot cheaper.
