Meals Made Easy

Welcome to Cheap Family Meals, your one stop resource for cheap meals with quick easy dinner recipes and low budget $5 dinner meals. When I published my first website mommymachelle.info I soon realized the response for cheap meals was enormous and thus created a website all on its own.

I often refer to myself as a financially deprived stay at home mommy and have had many years to practice creating meals for a large family with little money. I have learned to substitute, simplify and create edible (OK so some were somewhat edible) meals.

Trying to feed a family of seven has proven to be quite a challenge these days considering the cost of food keeps rising causing my tight budget to tighten even more. I have to work even harder to plan cheap meals, stick to a  list when grocery shopping and set a monthly food budget.

Cheap Family Meals will give you ideas for cheap meals planning, $5 dinner meals and quick dinner recipes that are so easy and cheap most of the ingredients are already in your cupboard. I will show you how to substitute or even replace ingredients from within a recipe at a fraction of the original cost.

I will teach you how to extend your ingredients to feed more without spending more. I will help you gain control of your food budget so those dreaded trips to the grocery store won’t seem so bad after all.

Searching the site is pretty simple. You can see the most recent recipes by clicking on the title under recent entries up at the top or you can browse for specific recipes under the specific category. Here are a few of the most popular categories:

You can also search by tags. Type chicken in the search bar and all the quick chicken recipes will come up or click on the popular tag feature to see all the recipe tags for this site.

Hope this helps and if you have any tricks of the trade, cheap meals, quick and easy recipes or simple $5 dinner meals please leave a comment and let me know about it. I am always looking for something new to create and my family would thank you!

I was wondering how the beef stroganoff could only be 4.98 when 1 pound of beef is more than that. perhaps i misunderstood.

  • Hi Lori, I can only base prices off what I pay here local. When creating a weekly dinner planner watch the grocery store ads for sales on beef or possibly buying in bulk from Costco or Sam’s Club. I also purchase a lot of my meat when is is marked down in the butchers section for quick sell, then I get it right into the freezer.

Above all the most important thing to remember is this is just guide to cheap meals planning. My hope is to give my readers some new dinner ideas that can fall within their food budget. Good luck and thanks for visiting!
