Edible Playdough – Recipes Kids Like

Calling all mom’s…if your looking for recipes kids like then might I suggest edible playdough. This is one of the easiest recipes to make and if your little one still likes eating dirt, rocks or the store bought playdough (like mine), then you have got to try it.

I was watching on of the local tv morning shows as they were preparing and demonstrating the edible playdough (recipe below) and I just thought that was the greatest thing I had seen on tv in weeks. This can serve as a great cooking idea the kids can make as well.

Edible Playdough

The recipe is simple just start by adding the ingredients in a bowl, blend for a few minutes and then beware, the fun part, you will have to use your hands to finish setting the dough. Before getting my hands dirty, so to speak, I added a few drops of red food coloring for some extra fun. Of course any color will do, red just happened to be the voted choice of the day at our house.

So here you go mom’s – let the kids have some fun:

Simple Cheap Microwave Brownies For Dessert

I always surf food blogs looking for cheap and easy meal ideas that work well with my time and my budget. I also surf just to interact with the other mom’s out there and try to learn from them.

I ran across this site some time ago while searching for a simple cheap family dessert one night. The site is called CheapCooking.com and it offers a lot of great recipes and tips on saving money.

The recipe was microwave brownies. Sounds simple enough and as a mom of 4 hungry and inpatient children I immediately clicked on it. We tried it and the kids loved it. I was happy to add it to my collection of recipes for kids.

My oldest daughter now makes brownies all the time and I don’t have to worry about the oven not getting turned off after or the mess that gets left behind for me to clean up.

Go check out CheapCooking.com and tell Ellen HI from Cheap Family Meals.

Cooking Meals For A Month Website – Update

Just a quick update on my Cooking Meals For a Month website. I’m still working out some kinks.

As a newbie to Wordpress, I have to figure things out bit by bit and that can get crazy.

My biggest problem to date is getting pages to correctly print out, like for the complete shopping list, etc., another is the fact that I continually change the theme, I like what one looks like but the functions of another, finding it difficult to settle on just one.

So I try to customize and most of time get myself in trouble because I am not a programmer.

In the meantime you can get a sneak peak at what the site will offer, I have posted 2 separate articles on cheap family menu’s for a week at a time. Take a look:

A Cheap Family Menu For Less Than $40.00

A Budget Family Menu Only $33.06 – Week 2

This will give you a good idea of what direction I’m taking with the new site. I appreciate all the feedback given and polls taken. Having a months worth of menus for inexpensive meals really is necessary right now. Stay tuned more details will soon follow! -Machelle
