Hi, I am curious what state you are grocery shopping in? I live in Southern California and all of the ingredients you list are at least DOUBLE THE COST! Your menu ideas are still a good budget option but not anywhere near the cost you are quoting.

Hi, I like your menu ideas, but you are WAY OFF on your prices! I live in southern California and every item you list is at least double what you are quoting? I'm curious what state you are shopping in? The menus are still a great resource and will save me money, I just don't want others to be disillusioned by your total cost for the week.

Take care,
Betty

ne thing I would suggest to anyone trying to cut their food budget is knowing how to use a whole chicken. When I buy a whole roasting chicken,I will get 3-4 meals from it and after I cook it, I make gravy from the drippings (a great stew base) and broth from the carcass.

I live in AZ and these prices are spot on. Don't complain if you live in a big city or up north. She is breaking down the prices that she finds (this is also not whole foods/trader joes lol) I shop at fry's (Kroger) and they have great deals and double coupons. I also suggest anyone invest in a vacuum sealer and pressure canner. I have 10 cans of chicken (1 lb = 1 pint bought at 1.88lb.) 12 pint cans of good beef bought at 2.99lb. Ground beef is more expensive then buying bulk meat for some reason. Best price I have found is 2.49 and that was the ground beef that was going to expire that day. Also check where your butcher puts meat that is expiring that day. Get it in the freezer right away and you saved half! My husband also got me a dehydrator for x-mas. It is worth the 40 bucks, I can now buy produce on sale and put a couple pounds up for storage/soup making. I watch a lady ?(BexarPrepper)? on youtube...check out her vids...

Inspiring! Prices may be higher in California, but if you look for deals and shop at a Winco or Food4Less you can keep the cost down. I'm going to give some of these recipes a shot, thank you for sharing!

This would be better if you were actually telling us all of the ingredients that we need and not just some of them. What it says on the recipe page, and on your page are two different things....
smh.

I would have to agree with another post I read on here and that is where in the world are you buying a loaf of bread for only .88 cents? In my neck of the woods you couldn't even buy three day old bread for that price ... Your meals look lovely but I don't believe I can feed a family of just three on your prices ... nothing you mentioned above with those prices would even come close to what I have here...perhaps maybe if you tripled your 15.00 a week to 45 or 50 then maybe I could use your meal suggestions but not all of us can compare to what you listed...well except maybe the cornbread...just sayin'
