Have You Tried A Straw Hat Dinner Casserole?

I decided to make today’s $5 meal idea as easy as possible.

One dish simple casserole’s are my favorite meals during the week when I don’t have much time for preparing dinner.

I love the fact that I can just throw everything into a dish, bake it and POOF dinner is done.

It’s also nice to know I’m not going to have a stack of dishes to wash before our dinner meal even starts.

Straw Hat Casserole

Personal Cookbook
Prep Time: 5 minutes
Cook Time: 45 minutes

Meal Preparation Ingredients:

  • 2 cans (15 oz) chili
  • 1 can jumbo tamales,unwrapped
  • 12 oz grated Cheddar cheese
  • 5 cups of tortilla chips
  • (optional) 1/2 cup diced onion
  • (optional) 1/2 cup sour cream

Meal Preparation Directions:

  1. Lightly grease 9×13 inch baking dish
  2. Layer tortilla chips, unwrapped tamales, chili, cheese and onions
  3. Cover and Bake for 45 minutes at 375 degrees

Meal Assembly:
Serves 6. Top off with a dab of sour cream. Serve with a side of white rice and green beans for complete meal that is healthy and delicious.
